Summer Sessions: Unveiling our new schedule and class line up

Our summer schedule is out and we are pumped!  While our foundation at Ola Kai Functional Fitness is in our Strength & Conditioning classes we love being able to offer our members variety.  As you look over our calendar we wanted to describe each of our classes offered to you, especially our 2 new classes- Yoga Sculpt & Barre.

Strength & Conditioning- This class involves a combination of high-intensity interval training, weightlifting, bodyweight exercises and functional movements as well as some olympic and gymnastic movements. We utilize barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, plyometric boxes, and cardio equipment in most classes.  The workouts are structured to improve strength, endurance and overall fitness.

Circuit Strength & Conditioning- This class typically involves a combination of resistance training, cardiovascular exercises, and functional movements. The focus is on improving overall strength, endurance, agility, and flexibility. These classes are designed to enhance physical fitness and overall athletic performance. (All levels welcome)

Tabata Tone- A weight based low impact class that uses tabata style training structure, :20 work/:10 rest for up to 8 rounds for each movement.  It is a great way to master a movement.  This class focuses on both cardiovascular and resistance training.  Burn calories and build strength.  The class is great for any age and experience level.  (All levels welcome)

Core Foundations- a class designed to cater to all fitness levels and help you achieve your fitness goals. In Core Foundations, we prioritize controlled heart rate elevation during the conditioning segment. It is not about sprinting, but elevating your heart rate in a controlled manner, allowing you to enhance endurance.  The goal is to help you experience the transformative benefits of resistance training, sculpt and tone your muscles, and improve your overall fitness levels. (All levels welcome)

Hatha Yoga- focus on breathwork, postures, relaxation, and meditation. This is an excellent class to learn the foundations of yoga in a safe and supportive environment. Postures are held for an extended period to ensure proper alignment, and build strength and flexibility.  Each class provides personal modifications and emphasizes integrating mind, body, energy, and breath–all within a playful, supportive environment. (All levels welcome)

Body Sculpt- is a fun, high energy class that moves with the beat of the music.  Dumbbells, bands, and medicine balls are used regularly.  This class stays away from high impact, plyometric movements and still keeps the energy high throughout the class. (All levels welcome)

Yoga Sculpt-  is an invigorating blend of yoga, strength training, and cardio bursts, offering a dynamic and high-energy workout experience. Held in a studio environment, it seamlessly integrates classic yoga postures with the use of free weights, resistance bands, or bodyweight exercises to enhance your practice. Expect upbeat music to inspire and energize you throughout the session. Get ready to engage your muscles, boost strength, increase flexibility, and build endurance while embracing the mindful essence of yoga. With emphasis on breath work and proper alignment, this class aims to shape and strengthen your body while nurturing overall balance and wellness. (All levels welcome)

Barre- Experience the ultimate full-body workout with Barre, a 60-minute class that blends pilates, yoga, ballet, and strength training elements. Targeting your core, arms, thighs, and glutes, each session features precise, high-repetition isometric movements, followed by rejuvenating stretches to sculpt a toned, fit, and lean physique. Get ready to sweat, feel the burn, and enjoy every moment! (All levels welcome)

We also wanted to remind our members as the season kicks into gear to remember that the Crab Shake and Soul Berry Parking lot are not for our members to park in.  There is always easy parking to be found within a 1 block radius of our studio.
